Statistical mathematics has played a significant role in our problem solving abilities. It has endowed us with a systematic approach to situation management and the ability to make concise decisions based on data. As part of technical customer service and consulting, we conducted customer process audits, researched and resolved customer problems, and met objectives through application of analytical chemistry and technological solutions.
We have used statistical designs in analytical chemistry, synthesis, catalyst screening, product development, packaging, manufacturing process development including process improvement, and quality control/quality assurance. In each example, novel discoveries were attained leading to reduced raw material costs, shorter more accurate quality control procedures and optimal process conditions. New polymers, catalysts and products were discovered through design experimentation. Also, experimental designs have been used in packaging where a matrix was formulated, experiments performed and thermal aging data was collected. The data was entered into the Arrhenius equation and was used to predict encapsulant and package storage stability.
